3 Productive Days Out to Try this Summer

*collaboration

One of the worst feelings is wanting to get out and go on adventures, get some fresh air or just some exercise on a gorgeous summer’s day, but knowing that you actually have to be productive. Every time the sun comes out I lose any form of productivity, so I’ve taught myself a few ways to balance wanting to feel the sun on my skin and tick things off the to-do list so I feel both relaxed and productive. Here are a few suggestions to help you overcome the same issue!

Swap Big Shops for Local Markets -

Every weekend I look in the fridge and realise that we’ve left the shopping until our days off yet again. I’d rather be out exploring but I also have to get my to-do list done, so why not combine the two?

Instead of heading to Tesco, take a trip to your local market or farm shop. Not only will you get better quality produce but it’s more sustainable than shopping with big supermarkets. At the same time you can feel like you’re having a day out because you’re going somewhere new. Most farm shops also have a cafe, so you can stop for a coffee or lunch to make it a proper day out.

Head to a Garden Centre-

I feel like the official sign of turning into an adult is that you start appreciating garden centres, but they’re a great place to head for a day out while being productive. It’s a great place to get tips and inspiration for future renovation projects, and the nice weather provides the perfect opportunity to improve your garden. You could pick up garden furniture sets (like these options from Beetham Nurseries), a barbecue, garden lighting or simply add some decorations. Garden centres are the best places to get advise on improving your garden, so you can make sure you’re using the right tools for the job. It’s a fun day out to provide a change of scenery and somewhere to explore, as well as you getting ready for your next productive day of actually working on your garden.

Visit a Local Beauty Spot -

As much as you might want to be productive, sometimes the most productive thing is to get outside for some fresh air. Rather than just going for a short walk, head to a local beauty spot for a proper day out. The fresh air and exercise will help you to clear your mind, making you more productive the following day. The exercise will also help you to feel refreshed as you’re not focusing on what you need to be doing. I know that technically taking a few hours off to go exploring isn’t necessarily productive in the traditional sense, but it will help you in the long run.

Other Things you can do for a Productive Day Out -

There are so many options for making your day out productive, whatever you need to do. You could take a visit to a nearby town to explore the local charity shops or independent boutiques to help you change up your home environment, take a cooking class to help you improve your mid-week meal plans, volunteer your time to help others or even try your hand at DIY. There are loads of options to get outside in the fresh air and feel like you’re doing something new, while still being productive. You just need to think creatively!
