Christian Louboutin on Doing Things Right

Now other than makeup I don't own any luxury brand items. Unlike other bloggers I don't spend my time discussing what handbag I'm after this week and what the latest "must have" shoe is at who knows how many hundreds of pounds. My blog always has, and as far as I can see, always will be about the affordable and everyday rather than the exclusive and unattainable. However, despite being unattainable I still enjoy looking at them and following what the trend setting brands are doing next.

I have always loved Louboutin. The red to black ombre shoe is a design that I will probably never stop drooling over. But recently they've been in the media for something which is even better than an ombre shoe (and let's be real, not much is better than an ombre shoe!).

In 2013 Christian Louboutin launched the "Nudes For All" collection - a collection of heeled pumps in a variety of nude colours for all skin tones. Which is great if you're a darker toned lady wanting to wear heels all day every day when you want a nude shoe to complete your look. But now Louboutin has launched a collection of ballet flats which now includes two new colours - one on each end of the shade range, so both super pale and incredibly deep skin tones can join in on the nude shoe trend.

Okay, so they're £450 each, but it's about time a big brand tried to shake things up. Does this mean we'll now see "shoe bars" laid out like a foundation range in Boots? Probably not, but it might make it a little easier for less common skin tones to shop.

What are your thoughts on this? Let me know in the comments below.

  2. It's always annoyed me when people call beige nude... nude for me but not my friend.... I'm pleased this is bringing a little reflection on that for people.
