London Fashion Exhibitions To See in 2023

All The London Fashion Exhibitions You Have To See in 2023

It’s hard to think of London without thinking of all the fashionable folk who strut its historic streets, London Fashion Week, or any of the budding designers who have made the English capital their home. One of the official fashion capitals in the world, alongside Paris, Milan and New York, London is where every fashion-lover wants to be.

And 2023 has something for everyone. With exciting fashion events lining the calendar, book your train to London and choose a show-stopping outfit for any of these breath-taking exhibitions.

Africa Fashion

Up until the middle of April, Africa Fashion is taking over the V&A in South Kensington for a festival of colour and texture. The exhibition deep-dives into the fashion practices of the mid-20th century up until the contemporary artists today who celebrate the ancient traditions of African dressing.

Immersive, dynamic and varied, there’s no colour too bright or pattern too bold at this larger-than-life exhibition.

Andy Warhol: The Textiles

Anyone who’s anyone will know a thing or two about Andy Warhol. Famous for his iconic designs, surrealist paintings and fun-loving prints, this exhibition lifts the veil from his lesser-known works, as well as celebrates the designs that have become so synonymous with him.

The exhibition features over 45 of Warhol’s textile patterns from the 1950s and 1960s, so feel free to immerse yourself in his joyful world of toffee apples, ice cream sundaes and prancing clowns. Warhol’s vision of the world is anything but dull!

Style and Society: Dressing the Georgians

Going further back in time, this exhibition paints a picture of the exaggerated, luxurious fashion that defined the Georgian era. We’re talking dresses wider than the wearer herself, towering headdresses, and pleats and ruffles aplenty.

As well as the actual clothes, take a look at the paintings, prints and drawings which accurately depict the opulence of the Georgian era. Alternatively, ogle at the sparkling jewellery that surely graced many balls during its time and lose yourself to this world of high society where there’s no such thing as ‘too much’.

Hallyu! The Korean Wave

If you fancy learning about something that’s happening right now on and off screen, you’d better check our Hallyu! The Korean Wave. Taking place in the V&A, this is where you can learn more about the colourful world of South Korean pop culture that’s inspiring movies, music and fashion all over the world.

With a love for all things cartoon, cutesy and colourful, Hallyu! is a visual feast that fully immerses visitors in its playful approach to the world. And if you leave with some fashion or beauty inspiration for your next party, then it’s all the more worth it!
