What I'm Thankful For

Hey Owlets, Happy Friday!

I've decided to start a new series on my blog in collaboration with a few other of my lovely blogging friends. #FanDayFriday is an attempt to spread some happiness around the internet by sharing what we've all been thankful for over the last week, because sometimes you just need a little something to brighten up your day before you head into the weekend.

This week I want to talk about travelling. Over the summer I tend to get a lot more busy and I'm lucky that for me being busy involves travelling to a lot of different places, getting to meet some amazing people and attending some great events. Last week I was working behind the scenes at the Bristol Harbour Festival. This is one of my favourite local events of the summer - there's lots going on so you can be busy and make a full day of exploring the festival if you want to, but if not you can just sit down with a drink and listen to some great local bands.

Talking about how much I love travelling and getting to explore different parts of the UK, I was lucky enough this week to get chance to go for a day out down in Weymouth. Okay it might not have been the best beach weather (it rained all day and I definitely came unprepared for the downpour in my summer dress with no coat!) but it was so nice to get to have a day out somewhere different when I've been so used to being cooped up in the same place recently, as well as getting to take some time off - I say that, but I still decided to vlog our day out!

I am also very lucky to be in such a beautiful area of the country even when I'm not travelling. At the moment I've been spending a lot of time in Wiltshire, which means I have beautiful woodlands and lakes to explore right on my doorstep. When I'm in Bristol I live a 10 minute walk away from our local nature reserve, and being able to get out for some exercise when I need to clear my head is a complete life saver. Even when I'm not travelling around the country, I am lucky to live somewhere where I can get away from the world for a little while and take a break from real life even though I'm still close to home.

What are you most thankful for this week? Let me know in the comments below.
