Get A Wriggle On!

Hey Owlets!

I'm so excited to bring you a review of something a little different today. It seems to me that despite setting out as a lifestyle blogger, I recently seem to be spending more time trying out food/drinks than reviewing anything beauty - but believe me, I'm not complaining.

Last week, Wriggle Bristol got in touch with me and asked if I would like to try out the service. You all know that I tend to feel a little apprehensive about reviewing things for a company, but I'll only ever review it if it's something I truly love the idea of, and this is one of these.

The whole idea behind Wriggle is to offer meals in independent restaurants at a discount - think Groupon but for buying a meal instead. It gives you discounted meals, and independent restaurants a chance to get their name out. I love this- as a student and self-proclaimed city girl, I find two issues. First of all, I literally never have any money. I love travelling, so any money I do have goes on train tickets, and the rest on makeup. Bristol is an expensive city to live in, so a lot of the time I don't eat out, and Wriggle really helps solve that issue.. The second issue is that there are so many great places to eat in Bristol that it can feel a little overwhelming, and the easy thing to do is go straight to a chain restaurant and order the usual. Wriggle challenges this way of thinking, and I feel like its a spoon fed guide to where to eat in Bristol.

Adam was running quite late so by the time we got into town, it was too late for most of the offers that ran 12-3. For most people, that's a really great time range for lunch - it's just we were super late. We chose to go for pizza at Pepenero because it was this or Korean food which I didn't fancy. We got there around 3:40pm, but they were still really accommodating and let us sit down to eat despite the offer nearly being over.

I ordered an Antipasti Classica, which came with garlic bread, and Adam had a salmon and mushroom pizza. The food arrived incredibly quickly and both dishes tasted amazing. The voucher was for either a pizza or an antipasti so we bought two vouchers - £10- which for what we got was absolutely amazing value!!

The concept is amazing, but I just want to go back and talk about the website for a second. When you go onto the main screen, it asks you to input your location or use location services to search around where you are at the time. This is great in theory although I find the website a little glitchy, especially when using a phone. I find that passbook integrates really well on iPhone when paying through their website, but you're unable to see the whole order confirmation once you've paid, and you have to turn your phone to be able to see the code. However, if you are ordering from a phone, they have an app available for both Android and Apple which is amazing and takes that whole problem away. I also would've liked a link to the restaurant's website on the offer page, as I found myself clicking between the offer page and Google to find their website, address details and to have a look at the menu, but that's just me being super picky.

I spoke to others that found the time constraints a little annoying. However, I really like them. Lunch served between 12 and 3 is incredibly fair, and it's just us running super late that limited our options. I also like that there's a time limit, because it means that if you're eating from the Wriggle's offers every day, there's a lot more variety from the turn over of offers, rather than it being the same places every day.

Overall, I think this is an amazing service. Honestly, if I had found this of my own volition then I would have used it anyway, which says a lot. I think it's a great way to discover new restaurants in Bristol, and an amazing way to eat on a budget in a city that's prices are getting ever closer to London rates.

If you'd like to get £3 off of your first meal, you can use the code "LVABJO", which would make what I had for lunch £2! Let me know what you think and if you'd use this, either in Brighton, Bristol or London, and I hope I've helped you save a few pennies and discover somewhere new.
