Fix Your Skin in 7 Days with 7 Products

Skincare for Acne Prone Skin Quick Fixes How to get rid of spots

Hello my lovelies,

I hope you're doing well!

This week I'm once again impersonating a beauty blogger as I come back at you with a highly requested post. By the time you read this, I will have already graduated but as I'm writing, it's six days until my graduation ceremony. I'm usually super lazy with skincare - I just about cleanse and tone my face before falling asleep, face masks are a rarity and I only moisturise before doing my makeup because it applies better that way. However, this week is different because I REALLY don't want to be spotty for graduation. I've found and spoken about a couple of hero products before, but I put them all together this week and wow, what a difference.

Skincare for Acne Prone Skin Quick Fixes How to get rid of spots Lush Mask of Magnaminty

If we're looking at this in terms of days 1-7, then using the Lush Mask of Magnaminty would be what I do on day one. I'll make sure my skin is clean and dry before applying the mask to any problem areas (basically all over my cheeks and chin). I warn you now, use this SPARINGLY. The mask smells and feels amazing - it's got peppermint in so it's really cooling, and is grainy so works wonders on any unwanted skin texture. However, if you don't put on a really thin layer then it takes forever to dry and cracks and falls off as it dries so you don't get the full effect. When it's dry, wet your face and massage your skin before washing the mask off  with warm water to be left with super smooth skin. I use this once a week as my skin's sort of "reset" - I feel like doing this gets rid of anything left behind over the past 7 days.

Skincare for Acne Prone Skin Quick Fixes How to get rid of spots Clearasil Coconut Oil

For my every day skincare, I use three products. I bought a jar of coconut oil last year when the beauty community flipped it's lid over the stuff, but until now I never really got the hype. I still don't love it as a moisturiser like everyone says - I think it's too heavy for my skin and I start breaking out after three days. However, I absolutely love using this to take off my makeup - it gets rid of pretty much everything and I just wipe it off with a tissue.  After that I go in with the Clearasil Rapid Action Deep Pore Treatment Toner - this removes any leftover makeup and coconut oil and makes my skin feel really clean. If I use it without coconut oil, my skin feels a bit stripped but doing it this way it's absolutely fine.

When I'm getting ready to go out in the morning, I use a Superdrug Pore Cleansing Pad. These pots are less than £3 and I don't understand why no one else in the beauty community has mentioned them because they're incredible. I was recommended these by a lady working in store and since then I've used them every single day before applying makeup. They're double sided - you massage the roughest side over your skin first (I usually do this for about two minutes across my whole face) then flip the pad over to the smoother side to finish exfoliating. I always notice how flawless my makeup looks when I've done this.

Skincare for Acne Prone Skin Quick Fixes How to get rid of spots Caudalie Divine Beauty Oil

Another product that I use every single day is Caudalie Divine Oil. I don't know what's in this (I was sent it in a beauty box as part of a PR package) but it's absolutely incredible. I won't lie, it's not the cheapest thing in the world - It's £28 for 100ml - but they do smaller sizes if you don't want to spend that much, and it's very well worth it. This 15ml bottle has lasted me around two months of constant use. When I say this is amazing - I mean it. If I apply this oil before bed when I'm suffering a breakout, most of the redness is gone by the next day and when my skin is dry, this oil fixes it in a few hours. It's also not at all greasy. I love putting this on at night after I've toned, but it's also great to put on just before I do my makeup. I apply this and let it sit for 5 minutes before primer and it makes my skin look airbrushed all day.

I know Caudalie oil is a little pricy but even I think this is worth the splurge, and I usually only buy drugstore.

Skincare for Acne Prone Skin Quick Fixes How to get rid of spots Neutrogena Face Mask

Going back to thinking in terms of progressing through a week, by day 3 I reach for mask number two to make sure I keep the spots at bay. I don't do this every week, but for graduation I feel like I want to go the extra mile for clear skin.

I love Neutrogena's 2 in 1 wash and mask. Honestly, I don't love this as a face wash. It goes lumpy and slips everywhere. However, as a mask this works really well. I put a thick-ish layer on, just enough so that you don't see skin through it, then I'll leave it for about half an hour - you don't need to leave it that long, I just get engrossed in YouTube or writing a blog post and forget to wash it off. When it's dry, I wet my face and gently massage with a damp wash cloth until my skin is completely clean. I'll then throw on some more Divine Oil.

Skincare for Acne Prone Skin Quick Fixes How to get rid of spots Sudocrem

If I'm suffering particularly badly with a breakout then I reach for the Sudocrem. If you don't know what this is it's a cream for babies but in recent years it's been commandeered by the beauty community as a way to fight acne. If I need to sort out some spots then I'll skip the oil and use this instead. I put a thin layer over any problem areas and go to sleep. It is a bit greasy so you need to make sure you wash your face thoroughly in the morning, but it does work amazingly well!

So there we are. Here's how I fix my face in one week with only seven products. I love this routine because it's not too harsh so it's something that you can do every week, but it's fast acting so it's also great for a boost before a big event. If you're looking for more of an every day routine, I posted my skincare acne routine earlier this year. Let me know in the comments, what's your holy grail skincare product?
